Counter Consumer Survey
In my day job, I’m a research psychologist at the University of Central Lancashire (UCLAN) in the UK. I’m part of the Cyberspace Research Unit and, at the moment, one of the projects we’re working on is examining consumer attitudes towards counterfeit goods and online software piracy (Counter Project). We would really appreciate your help (and time) – please consider completing the Counter Consumer Survey
All responses are anonymous and secure – we are not collecting any identifiable information so you can feel free to respond truthfully! We’ve previously produced a paper version of this questionnaire and while we received a huge number of responses, the number of people admitting to ‘illegal’ filesharing and purchasing counterfeit goods was relatively low (so low, in fact, that I believe respondents in the UK are a bit wary of admitting doing these things!)
We would really like to hear the responses of those who do or have downloaded files ‘illegally’ in the past as well as anyone who purchases/has purchased ‘dodgy’ goods! Completion of the survey will be invaluable and can help guide Government and EU-level decisions! I think this is especially important given Government plans for a ‘3 strikes and you are out‘ approach to filesharing!
